  1. Hi

One of my toeclips broke. They are the type which the bloke at the bike shop told me are now
discontinued. They are attached to the pedal (Shimano) with 3 cross-thread screws in the shape of
    a triangle.

Does anyone know if these can still be obtained from anywhere, else I will have to but new pedals
    which seems a bit drastic!

    Thanks

Are they the very flexible plastic type. I have some old Shimano 105 pedals with toe clips, do
you want them for twice the price of the postage ? Make me a bid for the pedals. (I'll take a
    photo in a minute)

Mail me at mseries1965 at hotmail.com if you are interested

Since I wrote this I have received a pair of clips at nominal cost from regular poster "MSeries".
This guy went to a great deal of trouble, including taking and mailing me pictures of the clips so I
could see if they were the right ones! In doing so he has saved me the effort and expense of
trawling round for an almost-impossible-to-find spare part!

"MSeries" has gone to a great deal of trouble to help me and I should like to publically express my
    gratitude.

This type of help is what Usenet was, and still should be, all about, and it is gratifying to find a
newsgroup such as uk.rec.cycling where members are happy to assist each other with minimal flaming.

    So thanks again, "MSeries" !!!!

  5. Further to the help you received from M Series,it never ceases to amaze me how friendly, tolerant and
informative members of URC are compared with some other Usenet groups where a word out of place
unleashes torrents of abuse. The same questions are asked over and over again but most are patiently
answered by someone 'out there ' with,as the OP says, little in the way of flaming.I quite agree that
this is what Usenet should be and not a place to massage the egos of some decidely odd people who
hide behind their computer keyboards. In whatever group we are posting it is worth remembering that
    we were all newbies once.

Just be thankful the urc top posting police haven't spotted that you've committed (in their opinion)
the capital crime of typing your words in the wrong place. It might change your opinion of urc if
    they had ;-)

Sorry,I can never seem to get into the habit of bottom-posting.Probably as I much prefer to read
    posts that have been top-posted.

    Is this better?

  9. Cheers Cy, I received the payment today BTW. I got some brake levers from John Thomlinson on the
same "twice the postage deal", like you I was over joyed with the gesture. Maybe its a cyclist
thing, one never knows when one needs allies so should not make enemies.

If you wish another set of these pedals, I have some going free. I can't use them (MS) and my
boyfriend doesn't like them. We're trying to get rid of as much unwanted stuff as possible. Please
send me an email. I'll weigh them and find out what the postage would cost.
