remove/replace chamois

This may come as a surprise, the fluffy stuff is designed to keep the skin dry, it is probably Coolmax, and the foam is designed to soak up the wee. :eek: Thats why they have nappys in bike shorts. 😄

Some shorts do have a pad that is way too thick. I think that it would be hard to cut out and replace the chamois as the lycra fabric would probably fall apart if you tried to take out the stitching. I would suggest trying a different brand and keeping this set as a back-up. The padded underwear is usually for wearing under non-cycling shorts.

nah, ive got good shorts, this is definitely a cheap "chamois" it seriously feels like they took batting sp? and some valour sp? and made a pad out of it.

the only reason i wanted to do something with these shorts is because they are the bibs to my puerto rico kit. its not that easy to find rican cycling gear.

Why not just sew the new chamois on the inside of the old one .. now you'll have 2! You will most likely destroy the shorts if you try to rip into it to remove the old chamois.

Take it to a taylor and make sure they know what they are doing prior to letting them do it.
