OMGWTF!!! THREE??? God that tub of lard will be dropped at the first
    Via-duct.

Or maybe we could say he is spot on weigth considering the time to go
AND the usual weigth loss in a GT.

Or maybe we could say he is spot on weigth considering the time to go
AND the usual weigth loss in a GT.

But it's 3 kilos to lose between now and then. He will show up at the
tour with a cold, as usual.

And don't get your hopes up about today's high finish at the TdS. The
favorites weren't riding hard. 30+ strong group with 3 kms to go.

  4. pezcycling.com had this link on their main page of a guy in a hairnet
who looked overjoyed to be winning a race. I couldn't tell who it was,
so I clicked the link, revealing this:

    http://tinyurl.com/h2eam

Now granted he is younger here, but Sausage Creature has not looked
anything near this fit ever. Further, look how excited he is here - he
likes cycling. I don't think he hasn't liked cycling anything like
this since, not even when he won the Tour.

Other notable details of the photo:

-Is Jan riding a Mavic 3G on the rear?

-The guy getting second is using Campy Deltas?! I never would've
guessed anyone was using those as late as 93, though he gets some style
    points.

-The guys getting second and third basically dropped off the face of
    the cycling earth.

    -RJ

Or you could think he will start the TdF with ~2 ish Kilo's over his
race weigth and will burn those during the TdF. *tactics used by among
    others Lemond and Indurain*

Ahhh no. These three kilo's proof he has no clue what he is dfoing,
hasnt prepared at all and that he will 'not be able to compete for the
GC. His slow and steady progress in Giro and TdS are clearly clever
    ploys by his opponents!

Troll, troll, troll, your boat, gently down the stream^^

Having a cold once AND finishing high up no matter what and NOT using
it as an excuse. Indeed a horrible thing disqualifying him completely.

Yes, his steady progress in the TdS is no indication whatsoever. He
will drop off immediately as soon as they will hit a speedbump.

Jan Ullrich track record is one of utmost and total failure. He never
managed to come close to LANCE and this proofs that every other
contender will beat him to pulp. Jan is fat, never motivated and when
he does well in a race it is because his opponents secretly all let him
win as they pity him so much^^

    Thank you for enlightening me🙂

No, he's trying as hard as he can. I can tell by the look in his eye.

No, the first mtf, he'll lose time never to be regained, as usual.

Indeed, I agree, no way Ullrich makes the podium. He is too fat, has no
power and will catch a cold.

History has proven that Ullrich has slim chances of being a contender,
in fact his disastrous preparation proves this every year. So yes,
looking at how Ullrich is right now and what he has done in the past I
agree fully: He is a disgrace and will drop at the first Hill.

    Dumbass -

He won't get dropped on the first hill. He's got too much talent.

As for being a disgrace: he sort of is. 99% of his fellow pros work at
it more than he does. That may not matter to an average couch potato
who can empathize with Ullrich's average level of desire, but to people
that do or did once have that passion, his talent seems like such a
    waste.

Ullrich is a nice guy and he had the good fortune to have had great
genes. Beyond that, there's not a lot to admire about him as an
athlete. As a person, sure. As an athlete, no.

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.

Jan has talent, but he can't even take first in the

    ahead of him this year:

I'm a grognard... Third in the TdF is amazing stuff and in most
European countries it makes you a legend. As Americans tend to
disagree... lets call it a draw?

If I had to bet money... I would put it all on Basso, who is the
younger, stronger rider. But inane and clueless *Jan is fat, he never
trains, he has no mentality* sniping is also unfair: He will be out
there, again a competitor in the heaviest race in the world, where he
manages to be a competitor for over 10 years (=no mentality my hiney)

Ronaldo lumbered around the pitch against Croatia looking
off the pace and struggling to control the simplest of
passes in a performance described as "weird" by former
    Brazil striker Tostao.

He made three or four sprints of about 10 metres and that

Having read cycling stuff from the continent for awhile, it seems that
it makes you a name, but you have to have a really good back story to
become a legend from placing third. The best way to be a legend in
third is to be leading a great cyclist and lose it all on one great
    mountain stage.

It tends to be best to lose to a great champion with flair - lose with
flair to a champion that wins with flair (you can substitute panache
here). So no one is going to become a legend this year from placing
third - just a name for awhile with some nice pocket change this year
and next. No great back story unless something extraordinary happens
    in the Tour itself.

OTOH, I will agree that placing third in the Tour is amazing stuff, at
least for all but a handful of cyclists.

There is a lot to admire in Ullrich as an athlete - he falls a bit
short as a competitor. The trouble for him is that people tend to
admire more a competitor that is a bit short as an athlete than the
    other way around.

I'll still pick Ullrich for the podium and pick him for first to be a
contrarian. I don't think Basso raced smart enough in the Giro to
avoid a Tour washout, so I don't pick him for the podium at all.
