If it's the mobo that's blown the disk is probably fine and you can just whip it/them out and
shoe-horn them into your RedHat box.

The PSU in Lemond[1] went funny on me last week, push the button and it was dead. Turn it on its
side and it works, I swapped the MOBO but the problem persisted. I got a new PSU and we are back
in action.

[1]Note the bike content, my computers are named after cyclists who are TdF winners AND have been
World Champion.

The first styx (a 286) died when teh power supply went. It was when I lived in a small flat, and teh
desk was by the bed. On a weekend morning I could switch on the PC, twist the screen and read email
in bed, the only downside being teh stream of air from teh power-supply grill blowing in your face
from six inches away.

Anyhow, one day, I woke, reached up behind me and switched it on. BANG sssssssssssssss and teh
patter of bits of shrapnel all around me. Wow did I get out of bed fast. Something in teh power
supply had actually exploded, and there were little bits of sand / glass scattered across teh duvet.

I didn't re-CYCLE it. (on-topic you see)

Hmm.

On Friday I rebuilt an old wreck as a fileserver. Since it had been buried in a hole awaiting the
end of the universe, I named it Marvin. I guess there can only be one so yours had to expire?

Mine got the name because it had 1GB RAM and a 1.8GHz Athlon processor - far and away the most
powerful machine I owned at the time. Zaphod has dual CPUs (obviously), Trillian is the wife's PC,
Arthur is my Macintosh, Ford is the boys' Macintosh and Slartibartfast is my web server. I have
others but they don't have names.

Yes of course I have, the machine was not responding to the telnet client, the webserver was
dead also.
