  1. I am pretty much on my own as far as my weight training goes.
While surfing the net the other day, I came across a CD or DVD that
had demonstrations of all the major weight training exercises on it.
This was not a body builders personal video, but a general training
    aid.
There was a review on Amazon.com of the book and the video where
several folks advised against getting the book, but just get the video
for the demos for correct form and execution.
UNFORTUNATELY, I lost my bookmark file and can't find that video, or
the store it was featured at. Amazon had the book, but not the video.
Besides, searching for weight training or body building on amazon gets
    hundreds and hundreds of hits.
Can anyone recommend a good DVD/CD for a beginner at weight training.
I am not looking for a professional bodybuilders personal gym routine.
The one I found was just basic exercises, barbell, dumbell etc.
    Thanks in advance.

_Starting Strength_ by Mark Rippetoe and Lon Kilgore is a great
book. It covers the Squat, Bench Bress, Deadlift, Press, and Clean in
    great detail.

I've just ordered the DVD/Book combo (you do have the option to
purchase them separate, though) for _Olympic Style Weight Lifting_
    from Ironmind:

Here's the review which convinced me to buy it. It also includes a
list of exercises taught in the video:

I recommend using the these materials as an aid to filter out quack
coaches and not as a replacement for coaching. As a novice you likely
lack the kinesthetic awareness necessary to gauge your own form (and
even mirrors can't really help you there).

(_Starting Strength_ is causing me to take a second look at my
form. Does anyone know any good coaches in the northern-NJ area?)
