So I'm probably risking a lot of serious finger wagging here, but I'll
go ahead and admit that the idea of weight lifting makes me a bit
nervous. I know all cardio isn't enough and that the health benefits of
lifting are significant.
How can I migrate from the light amount of resistance involved in
walking to something more substantial?
Also, can someone explain to me what counts as resistance and how it
benefits compared to pumping iron. I am currently using a customized
exercise program called Push that comes on DVD with toning exercises.
I'm enjoying it- find it the right level of challenge and have that
"good" soreness afterwards that muscles are working without pain.
Anyone else using Push or familiar with it- I'd love to hear what you
have to say about it.
