It's okay to oppose our team in the World Cup. We Americans are still
trying to understand what that other "football" really is. It's
baseball season here...and my European wife couldn't care less. But
when Team USA finally wins the World Cup, you'll know that the end of
time is near. :P

Well it's not OK for her to oppose the Socceroos! There is tremendous
pressure here to refer to the round ball game as "football" which is
normally the term for Australian Rules (the American game is "gridiron"
and rugby is just "rugby"😉, but nonetheless soccer is suddenly getting a
lot of attention. It won't last, but it's fun for the time being. ;-)

cup our team is very good.
