I had to buy a new cable modem, which naturally did not configure correctly. So I'm a bit late on the posts but I'll catch up ๐ Anyway, dinner on Sunday; I roasted a chicken and did nothing special with it. Stuffed the cavity with onion and celery but I did sneak in a couple of sprigs of rosemary ๐ I made some mashed from yukon gold potatoes. I made gravy from the chicken drippings. I did experiment with some string beans. I blanched them for maybe 3 or 4 minutes. I did a saute' of onion, garlic and red bell pepper in olive oil. I threw in some pancetta and tossed in the string beans, cooked a couple of minutes more and served them up. Pretty good.

A nice "cozy" meal...
Any local produce starting to come in at the farmer's markets down there, Michael?
Looks like the summer growing season here is off to a decent start, had some nice hot days early on and plenty 'o rain. Splendid "technicolor" weather here in Chi - town as of late...

I haven't had much time to deal with the farmer's markets, or any markets the past couple of weeks. I've been busy at work and I'm planning a trip to CA at the end of the month. Besides all that, I've been tending my gardens. The gardens look absolutely beautiful this year. All the hard work in the past is finally paying off.

LOL... I took a few the other day and will post them when, and if, dumb assed Charter manages to be able to keep me online. Not only has my internet connection been hosed the past 2 weeks but the television lines have been messed up. To make matters worse; the past 2 mornings I've come across a broken appliance. Yesterday morning the microwave blew up and this morning I noticed something oozing down the side of the fridge. Melted ice cream. The avocado monster finally bit the dust. I'm going shopping for a new one today.
