  1. Help me please. I am from Cambodia and do not know how to cook
Italian. Does anyone have a tasty and easy recipe? Thanks!

  2. I'm a certified Norwegian attempting to understand California Cuisine. I did
not know how to cook French. I went, page by page, through Julia Child's
Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and learned the basics. I would suggest
you go to Marcella Hazan's Classic Italian Cooking, and do the same thing.
Start, however with Julia before you go on to Marcella!
If you're Cambodian you already know more about cooking than any of us!!
Don't be concerned, just do it!
    Kent

BTW, as you may know, many excellent French restaurants in the US are
conceived and run by Cambodians. The native French usually don't know how to
    do this successfully.

If you are wanting something totally easy & seems like it took all day
to make, then make "easy" Parmesan chicken & serve pasta and garlic bread

You may have to double the recipe depending on how many people you are
serving. You will need some sauce heated up for pouring over the pasta.

I don't really have measurements because I just dump it in & bake it.

Frozen breaded chicken tenderloins (I believe the brand I buy is Tyson)
1 large jar of spaghetti sauce
    Mozzarella Cheese, grated.
"grated" Parmesan Cheese (not the "powdered" kind)

In a cassarole dish, spray with cooking spray
Spoon in some of the spaghetti sauce in the bottom
Layer frozen breaded tenderloins (they can touch, but not doubled over
    each other completely)
Sprinkle a generous layer of Mozzarella cheese over the chicken
Pour more spaghetti sauce to cover the cheese & chicken completely
Sprinkle a little more Mozzarella cheese and also some Parmesan cheese
    on top of the sauce.

Bake covered at the temp & time noted on the package of chicken, but I
always add some more minutes just to be sure it's cooked through and
that all the cheese is melted & bubbly.

I like to serve with pasta that is the curly kind or the small tubes.
You can also spruce up the "extra" sauce by adding in more garlic &
herbs (oregano, rosemary, basil) and maybe also cooking some chopped
yellow onion in a little oil first (until translucent) before adding and
heating up the sauce (try not to burn & don't use a "sweet" onion).

Garlic bread is easy. Buy some french bread. Soften some butter (or
"spread" of your choice) and mix with some powdered garlic (1 or 2 Tbsps
per 1/2 cup). Layer the buttered slices, wrap in aluminum foil and bake
for about 10 minutes along with the chicken. The butter should be
completely melted & baked in when given the "peek check" test

    Good luck!

Here is what lasagna is and a link or two on how to make it. It's
easy. Anything you find confusing in the recipe just google it here or
    on the web.

there are more lasagna recipes than there are Italians

it is basically layers of cooked flat noodles (lasagna noodles, thus the
name) with cheese or sauces/ingredients in between each layer, then usually
covered with mozzarella and other cheese, and baked long enough to cook the
eggs (if used), heat the ingredients together, and melt the cheese on top.

In short, it is a way to flavor the noodles.

I prefer red sauce with italian sausage, nutmeg ricotta white sauce, and
    frothed-egg-cheese sauce layers.

You can layer those lasagna noodles with eggplant, cubed or crumbled
fried meat, squid, tuna, or with just about anything you want in sauces; top
it with shredded cheeses of many kinds and amounts.

Some people like heavy, some people like fluffy layers, some like one layer.
Some like browned cheese, some like melted cheese.

You can use frozen noodles, make your own and cook them, or cook the dry
    noodles in the box.

The lasagna sticks to the pan - so use "Pam" or butter the bottom and sides
of the bnaking dish before layering

I am sure there will be many suggestions for recipes posted here, so pick
one that looks good and go for it.

Too many varities. Just make layer #1 a pasta sauce so it doesn't dry the
first layer of noodles. Also, ricotta is traditional cheese filling
(amongst other meats and veggies). Imho.

For a different slice of life try using puff pastry (poked liberally with
a fork). Use a taller-sided dish for two layers!
