  1. Is there some reason for this alpha dump of recipes? Are they your
favorites that you've tested yourself and like or are you just cleaning
    out your hard drive?

Of more potential interest, is there a reason why anyone would look
through all of them? I sampled a few and found canned vegetables and
bouillon cubes and suchlike things, and no tips or tricks about
technique or alternatives.... -- not very interesting. -aem

Most of them are low carb...Yes they've been tested and found good.

Well that's more than we knew before but it's not much of an
explanation of what you're doing. Though if you're just reacting to
how dull it's been here I can certainly understand it.

Isn't there another group that is just for recipes without comment?

Oh [censored]! Now you gone and done it. It was comments like this that
started his hissy fit in the first place. Now he'll post the 100 gigs
(or whatever) of recipes that he has just to "get even"

    ;-)

I just kill-filed the two posters. It easier than marking and
    deleting them individually.

Had they been considerate and used the standardized [REC]
convention, they would have been deleted automatically.

Under the "Re: Greek Recipe - Tiropita - Cheese Pie" thread, you'll find
    this "explanation":

Don't [censored] me off Greg or I'll bury you in recipes...and if you plonk me
you'll miss some killer recipes. I have DVD's full of recipes...millions
of the things...Last I looked 37 gigs of recipes not in software plus
    about 5 million in software.

Please post as any an as varied recipes as you like...Oh course they'll
be welcomed. Greg and Dave are full of [censored]...This is a Cooking Newsgroup
    therefore recipes are VERY welcome.

    Then sf responded:

I have no idea what Dave and Greg are trying to do by denegrating [sic]
your contributions, but please continue to post. The rest of us are
    enjoying your recipes.

    To which MLI replied

Please Join me in burying them in recipes...

In other words, it's just their little tantrum to "get back" at "Greg and
Dave" by drowing out all the normal conversation which takes place here. In
adopting this tactic (which I hereby name the "LALALALALALALA!" fallacy) I
guess he's showing THEM, all right!

rec.food.recipes is manifestly the group which SHOULD be getting this flood.
But of course, MLI displayed his maturity by killfiling me when I pointed
    that out.

It's a pity really. Some of them may have been very nice, but when
you're overwhelmed like that you end up simply deleting the lot
without looking at any at all. Heck, if I really wanted to spend an
evening reading recipes, I'd dig out one of the unused books on the
    shelves around here. :-)

    Cheers, Phred.

I've just killfiled him until his tantrum is over. (wha'd'ya think, a
couple of days?) If any of the recipes are interesting enough that they
generate any discussion, I'll find 'em in the follow-up messages.

Rather, is there another NG you could go to and just post to yourself?

Please do try and "police" this NG. I love the recipes and if you
don't, then do not read them. Please try and NOT speak for me.

It's a childish reaction to my comment to a newcomer about posting untried
and unsolicited recipes just for the sake of posting them. Someone thought
it would be clever to try to drown us with recipes. I am not drowning. The
    sender was filtered.
