I just bought a can of Lupini beans. In nutrition facts it states for 1/2 cup Carbohydrate 16g Fibre 16g
Fitday didn't recognise Lupini beans so I'm just wondering if this is correct and if it is what can you do with it. I cooked it for about 10 minutes and they are still a bit tough. Jerry

The question to me is - They can't be 0 net really, so are the listed numbers what happens when the fiber is pre-deducted from carb counts like is common in Europe, or is the net actually close to zero, or is the label basically a fantasy? I bet if you do the arithmatic starting with the total calories per serving the fiber has already been deducted from that 16.

I hope you cured them first. I've read uncured Lupins are poisonous. Lupins can range in taste from bitter to sweet. If they are bitter they are poisonous.

we used to get them in a jar and eat raw (pickled? not sure) I think you pop them out of that thick skin and just eat them.
