Memory Map: Join tracks?

My memory-map problem is usually amputating extra track, either the
interpolation back to the last trip, or I was so knackered when I got
back to the van, that I didn't switch Garmin off for ten miles!

How about drawing a "new" track between the two existing ones, then
joining twice?

Thanks Richard, but I'd be happy if I knew how to join ONCE! Can you
do it? If so, do tell how please.

I don't have any problem *deleting* a track section. Just r-click at
the point where the amputation is to be made, and choose
Operations>Split Track, then select the section you don't want and hit
delete.

The practical problem behind the requirement here is to *add* extra
track. Typically the track is imported via a GPX file. Most of my
walks to date have been downloaded from Garmin to GPS Utility, where I
print them. From GPSU I can File>Save As GPX. In future, if I can
overcome these apparent limitations of Mem-Map, I may go direct to
that in future, as it avoids the hard part of having to make and
calibrate a map in GPSU.

Anyone else know how to join 2 tracks please?

It's a standard enough operation in most software. My GPS Utility does
with a couple of clicks, for example, and I expect most similar
programs like OziExplorer do so too. So maybe it's just some basic
mistake I'm making in the way I'm attempting it.

A developer friend has suggested (when discussing Memory-Map crashes
I'm experiencing) that "... it seems to hint of some variable which is
not initialised properly and so it appears to be in some random state
when first used. Sometimes the starting state is acceptable and
sometimes not." I suspect this joining issue too may have a similar
cause.

Anyway, I've reported it to Memory-Map in UK, who have forwarded it to
the USA developers.

FWIW, when I run into unexplained problems with a program, I reboot the
computer, and they usually go away.

newsreader, say Agent, and a newsserver, say news.individual.net. These
will allow them: to see only *new* posts, a killfile, and other goodies.

computer, and they usually go away.

My sessions Thurs/Fri included at least 2 reboots, but that made no
difference; still unsuccessful. Since last night, when that operation
was still failing in Mem-Map, the PC has remained on. Yet, today - no
problem. Go figure!
