Help!
I was persuaded to take a camera along on a recent walking trip to show
people what I get up to and I think I've now got photo-itis. I hang
about at summits waiting for the sun to come out, I retrace my steps to
check whether the view was better a few hundred metres back, I stop to
peer at things from odd angles, and so on. I'm sure some of you know
the symptoms. All this is playing havoc with my mileage. Whereas I used
to be a respectable 25 miles a day man I'm now lucky if I manage 5. It
took me 2hrs just to stroll up the road to Sainsbury's just now with
all that interesting Georgian architecture along the way.
On top of that I'm concerned for my safety. It's not easy balancing a
camera on top of your rucksack and running back along a 45degree snow
slope to strike a suitably macho hard man of the mountains type pose
before the self timer goes off or the rucksack topples over and you
have to go fetch your shiny new cheap Argos camera from 50metres back
down the hill.
Are there any cures?
