  1. The advice here about the P-y-p car park was spot on, but the Met Office
Snowdonia forecast got it dangerously wrong for Thursday (11/5) - warm, dry,
    sunny all day. Hmmm.

Boots on by ten (probability of a timely start being inversely proportional
to size of party) in gloriously warm sunshine, blue sky all round, no wind.
Two hours later at the top of the Pyg Track, first rumbles of thunder from
the east followed by hail stones. Quick dash to summit for photos, then a
ground strike to the Carneddau convinced us that standing on best lightning
conductor in Wales no longer advisable. By Miners' Track in descent rain
really started, and electrical storm continued for about two hours, banging
and crashing around cwm, often with sub-three-second latency.

Glad we'd carried all the gear, but usual comments apply re under-equipped
parties, cotton shorts, trainers, thin cags, blah blah blah.
