I pulled my calf muscle pretty bad while starting up jogging after a
few years off, felt like a constant cramp in my right calf when using
it. So, I am now going to do RISE on it for two weeks. However, I
want to keep on working out at the gym and tomorow is leg day. Should
I just skip leg day to let my calf rest, or are there any exercises
that are safe for the calf, like leg extensions, hamstring machine?
Thanks!

I meant, RICE, not Rise (rest, ice, compression, elevation).

Thanks!I'd say forget weights that involve the calf. Stretch gently after warmup
(walking), deep tissue massage (go to a pro), and use the stick or something
like it.-Tony

Hi,
This web site is an excellent source for solving sports injuries:
I recently strained my calf doing a workout. I followed the exercises
and recomendations and was back to running in about 2 weeks. I don't
know how severe you strain is so your experience may differ from mine.
My injury felt as if there was a tight knot in my calf for about 3
days. It subsided in about four days but light running brought it back
for a day.Specifically for calf pulls
