quick wheel truing question

quick - check total roundness
check total lateral out of round for wave formations (leading to a
probable from the beginning?)
mark the outside of the eight at 10 - tape spokes?
grab middle spoke then correct alternate spokes working out to tapes

Feel all 8 spokes, looking for one that is significantly looser than
the others. Tighten that one until it is roughly as tight as the
others. Then true for roundness. Then true for straightness again.
Alternate between trueing for roundness and straightness, always
looking for spokes that are tighter or looser than the others and that,
when their tightness is corrected, will tend to correct the
out-of-round and out-of-straight conditions.

If there isn't an anomoly (like one really loose spoke), I'll generally
adjust 6 of the 8 spokes. The middle thee or four would get 1/4 turn,
and the outer ones would get 1/8 turn (assuming a mild wobble to start
with).
