I'm not very good in my english, but i hope we'll understand each other! ๐
I'm from Europe and i'm coming to Australia next month... we're landing in Sydney. there I have an uncle, i'll be staying for about a week at his place... Now listen to my further plan: i'm flying to alice springs... there i intend to rent a camper and travel to darwin, from there to east coast to se the reef( cant wait ๐) and from there back to Sydney. i understand that distances are enormous, but i have plenty of time...
now i'm turning to you with a question: where can i rent a bike, i'd like to take it with me on my journey... I can't take it with me from Europe, so i'd like to borrow it in australia... where are the best tracks for bike riders on the way, where I'm going?
thanks for all the answers! I hope that you understand what I'm trying to say! keep it real, brothers!
Yeah, your English is fine. Betterer than mine.....:o
Oh yeah, thats one hell of a drive!! Good thing you have plenty of time. You could probaably rent a bike, but most places (unless they are a network) require you to take them back to place of rental. Is it impossible for you to bring yours over??
Question: Are you thinking road bike, or mountain bike?
Lets say you go to the gold coast, from Darwin (about 3500kms) there are soooo many places to stop for a pedal for a full day, Mt Isa, Longreach, Mitchell, Roma, etc.
Any one from Gods country want to expand on places to cycle??
Mr Killa, Just wondering how much it will cost you to get your bike here from Europe, compared to how much it would cost you to hire a bike for a few weeks/months. I'm assuming you would need to hire it for quite a few weeks to make that journey, so it's not going to be cheap. Also, to hire a van in Alice Springs and drive it up to Darwin and back to Sydney is going to cost a packet, so flying your bike over may be a relatively small cost in comparision. Also, check when you hire a van in Alice Springs, do you have to pay for excess kilometers, which is not uncommon when hiring cars in regional centers. Plus, leaving your van in a different location from picking it up also may have a cost. Just a thought. Peter
