I live in a hot country, and cycling even for commuting (yes, I am
riding a sporty style on a racer) always leaves me perspiring heavily
and therefore nor smelling appealingly.
In normal commuting situations there is a shower at each end of the
ride, and the same goes for training rides etc.
But sometimes I take the bike as transport to visit friends or some
event (eg at my son's school) and then smelling is not an option.
I found something called PerspireX
(http://www.mosquit-ex.co.uk/perspirex/index.html, www.perspirex.com)
which allegedly is able to inhibit perspiration.
Does anyone have any opinions/experiences with this for cycling?
I see a few concerns:
a) it seems to be geared to longer term use (at minimum a few days):
- application only at night
- lasts several days
b) would using this (it clogs up the pores) negatively affect the body?
I could imagine that perspiration is important, esp when
participating in sports (though some ads showed Perspirex as suitable
for sports)
Any help appreciated
