I have 30 speed Ultegra on the bike. Depending on the type of workout I'm doing on hills, I'll either spin in 30x21 or climb in 39x19.
Something funny happened for the first time today. When I attacked the hill out of the saddle in 39x19 there was a funny sound being produced by the right crank-arm only, and only at the very bottom of the downstroke of the pedal revolution. It's very difficult to describe the sound so I won't even try.

It could be anywhere. You might think its in the crank but most likely its somewhere else. When I go out of the saddle, clicking sound occurs. I thought it was the handlebars but I found out it was the skewers not properly in place... so it could be anywhere. Good luck!

Agree with Tango that it is hard to localize by sound alone, but my first guesses are that a BB cup is a bit loose in the frame or your cassette lockring needs to be torqued down.
