its simple - once you have switched off your headlights, you become invisible. A bit like a 2 yr old hiding their eyes/face so as not to be seen (i cant see you therefore you cant see me mentality). They will find him, and his (invisible) red sedan... but of course, all he has to say is that he didnt see the cyclist, and will get off with a small fine and warning.

there was just an 30 second bit about this on the 1pm news break on channel 7, asking for witnesses and a small interview with the guy, he seemed fairly ok, had a bandage over his chin, that was all I could see, his bike still look reasonably in tact as well, Colnago.

Channel 9 news said his bike was a "write-off" - Busted crankset lying
forlornly on the ground 🙁

yeah I saw that on the later news, the shot on the news earlier, wasn't very clear, it was an Orbea as well, not a Colnago..... I'd be buying a lotto ticket if I was that guy.

Good coverage on the 7pm ABC News too. Damn pleased the Police and media at taking this incident very seriously. If you think similar, why not send off a 'thank you' email or letter to the authorities.

The [censored]/s responsible for this are lower than shark [censored], and I really hope they do the right thing. Bit of a wishful thought that. 🙁
