  1. I've snapped the cable to the cadence pickup of my computer. Pure, damned
    stupidity - I hadn't secured it well enough and it got loose enough to
    fall out from under the bottom bracket and catch a pedal when I was
    going for it down a hill.

    It doesn't look too bad to solder, but where can I get a little bit of
    heat-shrink insulation to cover a soldered join?

    Maplin sell it by the metre but if you tell me what you want and email
    me your address I'll bung a few inches in the post if I've got it.

    Have a look in your Yellow Pages or online business directory for
    electronics subcontractors, and pop in to see them. If you lived
    anywhere near Weston-super-Mare, you would be able to pop in here and
    get a couple of inches!
