  1. Hey Guys!

My 16th birthday is coming up soon, and I'm dying to get a roadbike. I don't really want to have to spend over $AUD500 though, so I understand my choices are limited. I know a few people who race, and they suggested I look for old bikes on eBay going for a steal - but I have no clue what to look for and was very overwhelmed. Also, I'm not sure what size bike I will need, and from what I have gathered reading the other posts around the forum, it's reasonably important to get that right. I'm about 177cm last time I checked, and 65kg. (Hope this is the right forum.)

    Thanks in advance,
    Luke

  2. Hi,
Go to local bike shops and look at some bikes,Get some brochures and read about the specs and detailks of the bikes.Try to find a bike to suit you and then look for it on E bay.The local bike shop will tell you the correct size frame to suit you,

    Regards

I'm selling my old road bike on ebay

    cgi.ebay.com.aueBayISAPI.dll

58cm frame may be a little big for you but it depends more on your inner leg measurement that your height

For that kind of money you're probably better off getting a bike second hand from somewhere like the trading post or ebay - you can probably get quite a decent bike if you look around.

  5. Aldi had road bikes for $199 two weeks back. There may be some left. http://www.cyclingforums.com/t315064.html

  6. Bicycle Recycle sell mostly 2nd hand bikes; they might have something decent for about $500. They're at 672a South Rd Moorabbin, 9555 8692

    Tell them Neville sent ya

  7. Hi Luke,
Just stumbled over a full Sora equipped bike on Ebay it's a bit more than you wanted to pay but it is new with warranty. It's item number is 7246512344
