No, you're not weird. There's really no such thing. It's just your
case happens less than most. All this means in terms of pedal
grabbing, is that it's a little harder to execute the skill, than most.
Having the front foot as the grabbing foot, is the most efficient
way...but there are a few who do it your way just fine. Where it's
going to be harder is going to rubber, as I'm sure you already know.
what hand do you hold your seat with?
Mornish--Sometimes visualizing in your mind your pedal on whatever
object you're trying to grab onto, before you actually make the
attempt, can really help. I usually do this before I make the leap,
and I have had really good results, landing with the pedal pretty
square on the object.
I don't know if others do this.
And I will say that now that my hops have increased drastically in
height, I don't do too many pedals grabs anymore.
