Been using a Powertap for a couple of years on all MTB rides in all weather.

Only glitch so far was the time the car hit me and drove off, and broke the torque tube...

Good to hear about the PT I have MTbing a PT for a couple months. Just raced in the rain yesterday. went through a deep puddle and so far so good. I have slightl bent the axle though.

OP, What Erogomo will you use? The MTB version is not out yet.

the pro mtber i coach uses a power tap on their mtb.

Hunter Allen tested the ergomo in Rosta Rica La Ruta. He endorses it as the toughest PM on the planet. It held up just fine.

I have a new in box older style Ergomo that uses V2 Octalink (if I recollect), and realized that my old school hardtail has older 8 Speed XTR cranks and XTR BB and they should be compatible, right?

Verify the spindle length your cranks need before attempting an install.
