It looked far worse than it was. The 'Manueles (Mori and Sella) entered
the turn too fast with Mori flying off the road and Sella chest planting
into the guardrail. Sella was riding the front brake hard to avoid
hitting Mori and unicycled the front wheel into the rail, handlebars
slamming hard into the rail - cudos to the Campy record levers. Sella
either took it on the chest or slammed with the cojones as he slid along
the top of the guardrail. He got up quickly enough to preclude the
assumption of crushed nads.Mori, on the other hand, appeared to have saved himself from tumbling
down the hillside until he flipped over and tumbled down the hillside.
The crash was right before a switchback and Mori got back on the bike
after the switchback - it was not an effective shortcut.Mori and Sella lost the 18 second lead. Riding with the other 4
breakaway riders, Mori and Sella crash again. Mori slides out in a turn
and Sella crashes into him. They're now 16 seconds down.In the last kilo, Mori and Sella catch the 4 leaders. Unfortunately,
the wheel sucking Spaniard Horrach had just taken a flyer and went on to
win the stage. Sella managed a third.Following the stage, Sella looked pretty good while Mori had a badly cut
face and was holding a pad to his cut chin.OUCH!!!!
On another note, the post stage deconstruction show on RAI was dedicated
to the "gregari" (or domestiques for you Tour afficionadoes) with
several team gregari on stage to discuss their roles and featuring the
Spanish quick step rider who can carry 16 water bottles. The potential
tactics of Gerolstiener without a team leader were fascinating: the best
description would be a shoulder shrug. Good stuff, the interesting bit
was Davide Bramati (Quick-step) suggesting that Tom Danielson would be a
rider to watch in the upcoming mountain extravaganza.Gabe Brovedani

Anytime you go over a guardrail and can get back on your bike, by definition
it looks worse than it was. It was impressive how quickly Mori and Sella got
back on their bikes after the first crash.I would think Sella is super [censored] of at Mori. He took him out twice.
Amazing that Sella was still able to sprint for third. If he hadn't have
crashed twice, he would have been a good bet for the win. Even if the others
has caught back up, Sella had a teammate there. -

i literally went EEEK! but it wasn't as bad as it looked- they seemed to
barely have a scratch on them! There were some other crashed that
weren't shown that looked worse, laiseka is out as a result. As for
sella and mori, we all know it's the day after when you hurt like hell. -

Apparently, after being informed that sella and mori had crashed (twice) on
the very technical descent, the main leaders agreed to take it easy on the
descent. That would explain why Savoldelli didn't go on the attack when he
might have expected to maybe pick up some time against the other leaders.
