    Dumbass -

There is a big problem with this particular conspiracy theory.

Everyone can agree that 2 commercial airliners hit the World Trade
Center towers. We saw it live on TV.

Given that, there is no need for a fake plane attack/real missile
attack on the Pentagon. The nation was traumatized by the WTC towers
    collapsing, not the Pentagon.

The Bush Admin may be misguided, but they're not that devious.
Otherwise they would have faked WMDs.

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.

No, when they whacked [censored] Whittington,
Tony Blair managed to hush it up.

They sent the cat to Guantanamo Bay.

Now will you answer my question?

    yes.

no. but I always check in at www.gulliblenutjob.org to see the latest in
whack-job conspiracy theories. in my opinion the debunking of the
evidence for a missile strike on the pentagon is much more convincing
than than the evidence itself. but the main point is that the ass-clowns
in the bush administration can't even pacify a two-bit dirt-poor country
like afghanistan, much less pull off the biggest conspiracy in the
history of the u.s.a. these guys are opportunists, they're not deep
thinkers or planners and every shred of good advice they've gotten along
the way related to tactical and strategic issues they've ignored and
things have turned out to be as nearly completely a disaster as they
could be. why exactly do you think they were able to successfully
organize and conduct something like an attack on the pentagon (and the
    world trade center)?

You really need to read Griffin's book. After you have, I'd be happy to
continue the discussion with you here or via email.

I don't subscribe to any conspiracy theiry, nor does Griffin. There are
serious questions that simply need to be independently investigated.

Give me a break. There are countries that used less 'nuance' in their
approach toward Afghanistan in attempting to conqueor it in the last
few centuries that also failed to do the job. Arguably, those that
have little of value so little to fear lost are hardest to leverage
into a cease fire or peace. And it isn't sitting on the edge of the
world where it is easy to isolate - it sits across ancient trade
routes and less ancient smuggling routes that remain open.

Cheap shots detract from any argument.

Let me know when you've read the Griffin book. Until then we have nothing
    to discuss.

The U.S. had the entire world helping in Afghanistan and instead of
stabilizing the country, building infrastructure and so forth, the U.S.
moved on to attacking Iraq, poisoning world opinion. Now maybe it wouldn't
have made any difference if the U.S. had made a better effort in
Afghanistan because the situation is completely intractable, but the Bush
Administration has basically cut and run. What you've written is just
whining that "awww geeeee, it's *so* hard they should be forgiven for
    basically giving up."

Anyone who thinks that anything other than AA#77 hit the Pentagon is a
    freaking idiot.

The only thing crazier than the "Missile hit the Pentagon" theory is the
"Anyone who believes different things than I do is a freaking idiot" theory.

So I'm agreeing with you, kind of.

It's all a matter of degree. In this case, the theory is so far out
that only an idiot would believe it. No, actually I'm being unfair to
idiots. Your average idiot is not that dumb. Only an imbecile would
    believe it.

I don't blame the people who make films and write books about these
conspiracy theories. Of course, you could blame them for taking
advantage of the feeble minded, but in the context of what people will
do to make money, it's not that bad.

It's obvious that you haven't read Griffin's book. He doesn't draw
conclusions as to any theory of what might have happened. He raises serious
questions based on the public record and calls for an independent inquiry
that is not limited in scope as the 9/11 Commission's was.

    Why?

    Don't we need a motive?

What would the motive be? Once again, the nation was traumatized by the
WTC attack. The Pentagon attack is almost an afterthought.

Wrong. The attack was minor. Seeing it endlessly replayed on every TV

I'm stil pretty freaked out and tried very hard to not see it - and
largely succeeded. I still haven't seen complete footage of the
towers falling. Though I live in the city where it happened and
used to work in 1WTC, so maybe that is part of it.

    Dumbass -

It's the Pentagon attack that was relatively minor, both in casualties
and physical damage. The point is that *faking* an airliner crashing
into the Pentagon wasn't necessary if the motive ascribed to the Bush
    Admin were true.

For a crime of that magnitude, wouldn't a motive be necessary? It's
like saying the Roosevelt Administration should've faked an attack on
LA to start a war w/ Japan. They didn't need any such faked event, they
    had Pearl Harbor.

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.

My reaction is to the theory that AA#77 was not what caused the damage
at the Pentagon. Any book that entertains such a theory is not worth
    reading, because it's absurd.
