  1. i made some butter chicken from scratch and grabbed what i thought was
paprika ..... the recipe called for 3 tsps paprika and 1/2 tsp chilli
powder ...... well i made a mistake and ended up putting 3and 1/2 tsps
chilli powder in it ........ it was so hot i couldnt eat it , my man
and i tried everything we could think of to try and de heat it ....
added dried apples , sultanas, cream , yogurt,, tomato ketchup every
    thing

it was absolutly horrid .... my darling was very brave and was able to
eat some me i couldnt cope with more than about 3 mouthfuls .....
does any body have any ideas what i can do if accidently do the same
thing ever ever again ......... it made me feel terrible i dont
normally have any kinds of problems in the kitchen and it was just a
lousy end to a lousy day

    tessa,

Obviously you can't kill your "man" with chile powder. Perhaps it's the
extramarital affair you're having or pressure at the office that invades
your powers of concentration? Or, you need glasses.

Where was all that paprika? In a sauce? If so, maybe rinse the sauce
off the chicken? I'll BET, though, that you'll never again make the
    same mistake with this recipe.

Throw away the chicken. And next time, mix the spices **BEFORE** you start
    drinking.

Seems like a lot of paprika but whatever. It's a mistake you've made and
hopefully learned from it. It's about like the time I made a pumpkin cake
and forgot to add the sugar to it... UGH was it nasty.

I am not familiar with "Butter chicken' but google turns up a lot or
Indian recipes that seem primarily to use the chilli powder in a
    marination and then a sauce.

If this is the case with your dish you might consider rinsing off all
the chicken and then sitting it to simmer for 1/2 hour or so, preferably
in good stock but wine or plain water will suffice.

A low simmer so you don't over cook your chicken and yet hot enough and
long enough to dilute any remaining chilli powder that might have worked
    its way into the chicken.

You could then use the chicken in some other way. A curried chicken
    salad might be nice.

One time i tried to make creme puffs, we at dumplings for a week.

Throw it out. Sorry, but life's too short to eat food that tastes
bad, or to spend hours trying to rescue a plate of chicken.

the extra marital affair ...... dont have time or inclination for one
of thos lol he keeps me on my toes **grins** i have glasses and i had
them on at the time lol i was having a very blonde day yesterday ,
i didnt realise about the chilli untill we tasted it just before

  10. yeah i know , your so right, but i really wanted to make a nice dinner
and felt such a failure last night when this happend

  11. I think I might consider adding a couple of cans of beans + a few cans of
tomatoes, maybe some fried onions. Let the lot simmer for a while, serve
with rice and/or a salad. Chicken Chili 🙂

Sometime, I'll tell you about a chicken casserole I made last winter. The

it was just one of those days , i ended up tipping most of it in to the
rubbish bag, and my dinner that night ended up being bread and peanut
    butter and cheese
