Aldi bargains!!?

How have people found this stuff to hold up longer term?

I had a quick look at the remains about 5pm today. I didn't like the
coats, no map pocket and a seam on top of the shoulder. I talked my
mate into buying a walking pole as he is 78 and has a dodgy knee, and we
have a stroll after lunch every Thursday in Etherow park.

We spent an hour or so in a hide there and saw a selection of waterfowl,
heron, cormorant, grebe, and had a good view of a kingfisher which made
two passes along the river. Maybe I'll go for the 10 x 50 binocs in
LiDL next Monday....

Oh - the chocolate biscuits were half Sainsburys price, and the
chocolate eclairs were cheap too, as were the cereal bars at 89p for 8.
I buy them regularly.

How have people found this stuff to hold up longer term?

I picked up two green Mens Merino Wool Midlayers for £8.99 each.
Nothing else really appealed to me. I am not a fan of
walking poles. They just seem more to carry. Any opinions on the zip
off trousers?

Oh and the sherbert laces are VERY addictive.

Yup! At the end of a long walk there is nowt better than taking your
boots off and eating the sherbert laces.

There are a few pairs of the walking poles in this family, and we all
reckon they're great. My older children have used the daysacks as
school bags - and if the sacks can stand up to that they can cope with
anything. You can't really go wrong with paying three quid for gaiters,
can you. I'm a great fan of Aldi and Lidl :-)

Had a soft shell 12 months. The elastic came out on one side. Stitched it
back in.

Yes indeedy. I know someone who uses a pair for archery (to see where
his arrows have hit the target up to 50m away) and reckons they're
great. I'm tempted to get a pair myself.
