I know this is totally the wrong group to ask this, (as soon as I post this, I'll start a search for a more relevant group) but here goes any way: My HP 48 gx's batteries died & I replaced them. Now all I get is a screen w/ all the pixels darkened. I've pushed the 'on / off' button which is also a soft reset to no avail, I've also pushed the green arrow button above 'on/off' button, which is necessity to turn it off. I've removed the the fresh batts. & replaced them w/o any change. I don't have the instruction manual w/ me, & can't remember how to do a hard reset.
Anyone know how to do a hard reset, or other possible solution?

For a 48G:
- Hold down ON and the A+F Menu keys simultaneously - Release the A+F keys but hold the ON Key - Release ON - Press and release the F Menu key.
Yes I was amazed to find a news group just devoted to HP48s. I posted there next. In my haste, I forgot to mention that I was in haste to solve the problem, as I needed to use it tonight. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted here. I was fairly certain that someone here would know the answer. I was pleasantly surprised to find a NG devoted to it.
