Just got back from meeting up with Steph & her husband. They'd cycled up to Swaffham from Elveden &
I cycled across there from home. We met outside the parish church in town and did the sensible thing
- went to a tea shop for tea, cakes and a natter ;-)
After this, we cycled off round quiet Norfolk lanes down to Beachamwell, then over to Cockley Cley
and on to Hilborough, south of Swaffham. It was very pleasant to cycle through almost traffic-free
lanes in dappled shade from the tress alongside. At various points on the route, we'd pass signs
warning of wildlife on the roads. We couldn't work this one out, as we were in the middle of the
countryside, so one expects wildlife to be everywhere..., so why just at these particular points?
Go figure!
At Hilborough, we parted company, Steph & hubby going south & me turning North. I cycled home by
turning off the main road, & taking the quieter roads through North Pickenham to Holme Hale and then
Bradenham to home.
It was a lovely day - perfect cycling weather - good company and about 35 miles for me.
Cheers, helen s
