Fair assessment IME. Kevlar belt inserts are better at preventing punctures in the first place, but
even they don't stop glass slashing the tyre. Haven't tried any 'puncture resistant' tyres, but
think that if I did I'd still want to put the belts in anyway.Rich

If you have 26" wheels, try Vredestein S-Licks. No kevlar - it tends to make the tyre casing a bit
stiff and increases rolling resistance - but very puncture-resistant - none so far in 1000 miles.
They have other PRS tyres in their range.I do have some 27" Specialized kevlar tyres - they've never punctured either but they have
hardly any grip.
