pigeon who shat on my head as I commuted to work this morning....look out, tomorrow I might just do
the same thing to you.
Thank you, and good night.

.. Person who helped me around Richmond Park last night, you sat behind me making me keep on the
power. Broke my 50 minute record from door to door
(12.28 miles ... av spd 15mph ... 48min 40secs) ... I had a few pints to celebrate ... 🙂
...bus driver (Konnect) who, on the narrow road betwwen Swaffham and Holme Hale at lunchtime
today, came up behind me, slowed, waited until it was safe to overtake and then did so pulling as
wide as possible, overtaking *carefully* and then not pulling back in until he saw my wave of
thanks in his mirror and who then flashed his lights in acknowledgement - thank you sir, you are a
gent of the highest order who can teach the rest of your profession a thing or two about driving
skills and manners.
Cheers, helen s

....patient car driver who allowed my son and I to move to the right side of the road in the middle
of a flow of heavy traffic....may your arteries never clog... ;-) Actually had several instances of
considerate drivers tonight, helps take the edge of watching one's offspring risk life and limb,
quite refreshing ;-) Dave.
...bloke in one of the bike shops around these parts who tried to tell me that no-one makes 8 speed
11-32 cassettes.
You ain't going to get much business like that mate.
WVM who abused me for no reason.
:~)

Squirrel that ran into my front wheel yesterday morning. Did you think it wouldnt hurt. Note for
next time, run round things🙂 I was pleased to see you get up & bound away though.
Stan Cox
...cyclist yesterday on the A69/A1 roundabout, good cycling! That's how to use a roundabout
properly, better lane use than most of the car drivers on that roundabout.
Colin
...two lorry drivers that passed me on my way in to work this morning - thank you for overtaking me
as if I were a slow moving car and not passing me like the WVM did, giving me two inches of
clearance, traveling at around 60mph on a 30mph road and causing me to experience the most
disturbing sensation of being sucked into the road behind the van.
Lorry drivers - on the whole very considerate to cyclists IME :-)

Indeed they are. I am reminded of the knight of the road who stopped his HGV to allow Vernon, Nathan
and I to cross the A47 at a quite busy time.
The idiot who ran me off the road yesterday was an exception in this part of deepest rural Norfolk.

=2E..cheery neighbour who knifed both my tyres last night, congratulations,
you're bigger than my inner tubes. Do you fancy seeing if you're bigger than me?
(It's not impossible that he's not even bigger than my bicycle: Japanese tourists have been seen
having their photograph taken next to my saddle at their head height. But he's still cost me =A340)
.....kids on the BMX bikes I watched for over an hour doing seemingly impossible stunts just off the
town centre last evening, thanks for the free show, bloody amazing, when I was a kid a hundred foot
wheelie made you a God.

yeah, and now it's just a lead up to the actual stunt, innit??... Right, bloody amazing - Jackass
TV's got something to answer for there !! ;-)
....kids who did the 'pointy/laughy' thing at me just whilst out on the 'bent - I hope I've helped
your weekends start on a high ;-) Dave. (bloody hundreds of 'em. That'll teach me to go out on it at
skool chucking out time ;-)
... Delivery driver who didn't turn up today. I wasted my day off when I could have been outdoors.
Bloody ParcelFarce.

...bloke in one of the local good bike shops who not only looked at the bike and agreed with me that
they really should make Audax bikes with more reasonable light bracket clearance, but also had a
rummage deep into their bits box coming up with an old-fashioned round-the-headset- top lamp bracket
that could be made to fit a B+M Oval Plus with a bit of spannerwork.
