I was wondering if there are any tricks for stopping the sidewalls of road tyres from drying and cracking. They always seem very nice and "gummy" when they are new but seem to dry out over time and the sidewalls begin to split.

I clean mine with Armorall after each ride. Makes it easier to remove the tree droppings. Blue tyres look nice when clean. 😎

great tires. the sidewall on the newer version has a black sidewall, thin coating over the thread casing.
too bad i think the gp's have been discontinued, they are far superior to the gp 3000's from my experience.

Be careful not to get any on the tread area, that stuff's as slick as hell.
I just wipe my tyres down after a ride with a wet car sponge to check for any new cuts etc. -

Try finishline pro-detailer it actually cleans as well as protects, its marketing says it protects against UV, just use it on the sidewalls and only on the tread if super dirty.

I use Mr Sheen, on a sponge, to clean the tread and sidewalls after each ride so, that I can check out any cuts etc. Seems to work well so far 😄

ArmorAll works for me. WD-40 can also be used, but get any on the tread or braking rim, and you'll have an unpleasant surprise on your next ride.

Ok, but what can be used that isn't going to impact the tyres grip?

Jeez. Just ride 'em a lot so that they wear out before they have time to look however you don't want them to look....
Why would you want your tires to look new?

This product is designed for tubular tires, but I've found it works fine for clincher sidewalls.
