  1. I'm a young man who has lived in California for 5 years, and find that
people here have a concept of ideal temperature that is at least 5 degrees
higher than mine. I've been in rooms where people here complained that it
was "freezing" and their hands were going numb, when I felt it was still too
hot. I tend to get hot/swollen extremities from overuse, and the climate
definitely makes it worse. (I am not exceptionally overweight, or
    exceptionally athletic.)

Is there much medical knowledge on whether kids who grow up in warmer
climates become programmed to produce less superficial circulation? After 5
years here, it looks like my body is not easily programmed to adopt to
warmer climates, so I'm looking at moving to cooler places.

Could it be that you have a hyperthyroid condition? That will often turn
    folks into blast furnaces.

Yes, my dad's a physician so he thought about that before, but I don't meet
enough of the conditions. My blood pressure is lower than average, I am not
nervous, I sleep fine, my only breathing problems are caused by seasonal
allergies, my bowel movements are normal, fatigue levels are all accountable
as consequences of sugar or caffeine consumption. I used to be more
overweight but have improved my diet and lost about 30 pounds over the past
    3 years. I've stabilized in the 200-205 range (I'm 5'10, muscular build).
My hands are very still -- I've practiced juggling and specialize in ball
balancing acts. My skin is not moist, in fact it tends to get dry and
itchy. I have some hair loss, though that's quite normal for a 32-year-old.
I may appear to have a staring gaze at times, but it's because I'm thinking
about intellectual problems; I'm a grad student taking math courses.
