  1. 72 y/o male with angina, CAD, diabetes and high cholesterol. Not
obese, never smoked tobacco and was a heavy drinker but quit when
learned of diabetes. Refuses to take medication for diabetes or
cholesterol. How well does EECP work on all pts, in general and also
with these problems if you can estimate?
    TIA

  2. My cardiologist says that most of his patients that he sent for EECP
have shown good improvement. Less frequent angina attacks and longer
period of exertion before angina appears. I started the procedure and
had to stop after a week because of severe bruising which was
attributed to the fact that I was taking Coumadin and Plavix. I should
not have been approved for the procedure. I do not know about EECP and
diabetes. You may be able to get more info at:

    Why?

EECP is an adjunct and not replacement for the medical therapy being
    refused.

  4. Honorable Cardiologist:
The reason why he doesnt like traditional treatment is mainly
cultural. He grew up in the USA but had very poor health care. His
family literally went to the herbalist and couldnt afford a doctor.
His sister states, "if you didnt get well with the herbs, you could
easily die". During the depression they were poorer than dirt. They
were new immigrants and litterally had to search dumpsters for food.
