"We ate scrambled eggs and grits
For breakfast today
@ 6:30 am.

The shelter has a few computers,
But thus far, we have not been allowed
To use them. Restricted hours, etc.

We walked downtown
To the NYC Public Library
Branch for people who are blind or visually impaired.

That is a very nice library,
With all sorts of stuff for kids & adults
Avec blurry eyes, like us, as well as normal
Folks, not like us.

On Wednesdays
That NYPL branch is closed;
So we could not use the computer.

So we walked up to the NYPL
For Science, Business & Industry,
Also a very lovely building,
The restored,
Reconfigured Altman's Department Store
@ 34th & Fifth Avenue.

We used the computer for 60 minutes.
Nowadays,
You can only use a computer at the NYPL
If you have a library card,
& even then, only for 60 minutes, with reservation.

& there is no way
To get around tha rule. We tried.

For lunch,
Ravioli and canned Bartlett Pears.

The Violent Death of Hal, The Central Park Coyote
Part II

"So how does a healthy young male Eastern coyote wind up dead after
being kept healthy and safe for more than a week by skilled wildlife
rehabilitators?

You may have heard the story about Hal, the young male coyote who made
the mistake of ending up in Central Park- where he was surely going to
feast on rats, mice, squirrels and other small rodents.

Instead he was terrorized, chased, darted, lost with the dart in him
(eek!!!) and then chased and darted again the next day. Though this
animal surely posed little or no threat to children, and small pets, he
was hunted down like a criminal and finally captured hungry, thirsty
and exhausted after two days of being chased.

He rested with a wildlife rehabilitator for a few days, ate a lot,
drank a lot of water and started to regain his strength. This wildlife
rehabilitator is very knowledgeable and reputable ..."
