Rake?

The rake is the angle of the head tube, the offset is the
perpendicular distance from the steering axis (head tube) to the axle.
It is probably no different than other bicycles with straight forks
with a curl at the end. You can measure both of these by simple
means.

In the motorcycle world "rake" means the head angle. In the bicycle
world, "rake" is often used interchangeably with "fork offset."

If it's designed for a road racing bike, it will be between 43 and 45mm.
They're almost universally interchangeable.

Performance Bike lists theirs as 44mm. Follow the link below and click on

Maybe you misunderstood the responses.

The rake - aka head angle - has nothing to do with the fork, it has to
do with the frame and fork in combination. If you need to know a
precise number, you will need to install the fork and measure it. If
you need a rough guess, it will be identical to whatever your current
rake is. (Assuming the length of the old and new forks are the same,
i.e. 371 mm, the rake is set completely by the frame geometry).

As far as the fork offset goes - which will determine your trail - the
Alpha Q Sub 3 came in two versions, 41 and 44 mm. Presumably you want
to pick up an old one surplus from Performane Bike (these forks are old
and no longer being made) - in which case you'll need to ask whoever is
selling it which version they have.
