Felt F75

I bought a Felt F65 as my first road bike back in March. Am happy with it up to this point. great bike. Read a lot about the wheelset being mushy and all, but they haven't been holding me back up to this point. The F65 has got the Alex 220 Rims. I beleive the F75 2006 would have Shimano 550s?? I haven't tried a Trek Roadbike.
Anyways, best thing to do is ride both, figure out which one you like, and go for it. As far as I am concerned, Felts are neat.

I'm also looking at the F75 to buy as well as a Trek 2200, Jamis Ventura Elite, Bianchi San Mateo. Also thinking of doing a build with pedalforce.com or probikekit.com. The F75 looks to have a good feature-set. Various reader reviews and other forums bash the weighty wheels. But to me that is kind of a plus. I will not be racing so ultra-lightweight wheels are not a priority. Durabilty is. I wish you well on your purchase.

I am looking at the F80 but may fork out a little more for the F75...

Anyone else care to comment on this ride?

"Go the Felt!

I have an F100, my BF has an SR81, another friend has an SR101. WE think they are great!

Tyres are the critical factor.

I have the 2005 F70 and for the money I think it is a superb bike.

Reasonably light and rides very well.

Feels very solid yet compliant over roads.

The only niggle I have is that the Shimano 500 wheelset seems a little less rigid than I'd like, but this might just be down to factory lacing.

I'd reccomend one although I havn't ridden many others recently, as my main interest is MTB's and the Felt was more of an impulse purchase being reasonably priced in the sale.

Yeah fauxpas. I got the F75 and I absolutely love it. Here's a ride update I posted on the 'other' forum:

Anyways, the bike was very smooth to ride. Even more so than my steel Trek. No doubt the carbon in the stays and fork were doing its job. This is the smoothest alum. Frame I’ve ridden. Can’t wait to get a full carbon fiber frame. During a couple small climbs and a few sprints from stoplights, the frame felt stiff, with one mis-shift under load but after a quick R/D adjustment it shifted perfectly. Got into the big ring a couple times and was flying but I could not maintain that kind of speed just yet. The brakes actually stopped well, which was surprising considering the are some OEM brand. Another surprise was that the seat was very comfortable with some decently padded shorts. I had no pain or discomfort. The included clipless pedals were a pain to clip into but once clipped, I had no problems with the pedals. The float was good and was actally adjustable. Still gonna pitch them for Speedplays, Keos or something better. But they’ll do for now. It’s been sunny, hot and humid here with temps around 93 so the ride was shall I say… uncomfortable. I wore all black (to match the bike – I know it was a bit on the OCP side) which made me hotter. But, it still felt great to ride.

As far as handling goes, the Felt is very predictable and fairly quick. Not as lightning quick as some more aggressive crit. specific bikes I’ve ridden in the past (’92 Cannondale Crit. was the quickest handling bike I’ve ridden) but I have no complaints on its handling. It felt very solid in cornering.

I think I nailed the fit on my 52cm frame. I have no discomfort whatsoever during any part of my rides. Time will tell though as I increase the mileage.

So overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and loving every minute in the saddle. Even when my lungs are burning and my legs are on the verge of exploding, I am having a great time. I also realized how much I missed riding... It’s good to be back.[/i] [/QUOTE]

...and yes, I've flipped it 🙄 since the pic was taken. Also added cages, removed dork disk, added a Cateye Astrale, added a Topeak mini pump and a rear led light. Also put more miles on it.

The more I ride it, the more I am impressed with it and hence, the more satisfied I am with my purcahse. I haven't had any problems with it yet either. I didn't get the F80 cuz it was a triple and I had no need for it here in flat Michigan. I'd recommend the F75 to anyone looking to a really nice beginner bike ot a solid intermediate bike.

My LBS only has specials on floor stock. Sad cause I need a small/medium and he's only got the bigger stuff in both 75 and 80.
