Not that I was going to get it anyways...
At least not without having a job, since my life in China as an
unemployed student fun fund is currently down to only another year of
being jobless on a tropical island with white sand beaches.
But, it's such a disappointment to discover that the price tag for the
droolsome purty new Trek road bike (as opposed to the 5 or 6 merely
nice new Trek bikes) is the same or more at my local shop than it is
listed online at places in the US.
And I've been saying for a long time now that my next bike will be a
mountain bike. Not another road bike.
I don't understand. The sub 10,000rmb ($1200) Giant bikes are all
coming in at around half the price of equivalent bikes in the US. When
they've got the same models (usually as framesets) it's only a little
cheaper. The Bianchi are also slightly cheaper than the same models at
online bike shops (and that's without applying my adopted family member
discount). But the Trek bikes inevitably cost more. Alot more.
Any theories?
