  1. Here's update number 743 in the continuing story of my foot. Will I return to running? Maybe.
Not for a long while... months, at least. But, the good news is that I am seeing evidence of
healing. And, guess what I attribute it to. A chiropractor. The chiropractor (this one, a legend
in these parts) has positioned my foot often enough and accurately enough to allow the ligaments
some healing. How much healing we can accomplish is unknown, but, I AM wearing shoes like a
normal person, and I AM able to walk short distances without too much pain. He still advises me
from "taking a walk in the park", but, that will come, he believes. And, he even thinks I will
one day run again. I would never have believed that could be possible, but, now I am thinking it
    could happen.

My thoughts on how all this happened? I'm no doctor, but, I wonder if i am close. The Morton's
Neuroma surgery last August did "something" injurious to the ligament structure of my forefoot. My
ligaments were like limp puppet strings; they felt like cracked eggshells held together only by a
membrane. Other times, it felt like I had toothpicks jabbing me in my toes. The toes and
nerves/ligaments were in a constant state of spasm. I felt like I had a very painful marble under my
    second toe.

Instead of giving this additional ligament injury time to heal, naturally, I sought help for this
painful new injury through orthotics treatment (through the guidance of an orthopoedic surgeon).
The orthotics, over time, caused even more problems because my spasmodic foot was held in an
unnatural position--not the position it needed to be in to heal. I felt like I was walking on
    broken toes, all the time.

Now, whew, I'm getting better. If you read this, I thank you. This improvement has been a major
relief to me, and I am encouraged. My spasms are gone. Most of the pain is gone. I still don't have
a forefoot that is functional, in the way that I am used to. But, I'm getting there. The improvement
is coming rather rapidly, I believe.

My feelings about chiropractors have been reversed...at least, about this chiropractor. One day, I
    will run again.

If anyone has had a similar experience or symptoms, I would love to hear from you.

    Mary

Earth to Roger, earth to Roger, that thunderous booming sound you hear is reality crashing in on
your head on two fronts, chiros AND me giving good advice. No need to grovel, just KMA!
    :?)~
Glad to hear your better Mary/Bill.

  3. One more from me... I woke up twisted like a pretzel, in pain of a 11 on a scale of 10, inspite of
Vioxx, tylenol, and Cyclobenaprene (muscle relaxers) so I shelled out $25.00US (that's $1250.00 in
CND) and went to the chiropractor. Several adjustments later no more pain, no more pretzel, no more
meds at all today. Now I live on disability and my PT job, so spending $25 has to be justified by
the end results, and I still would've gone if it was double that amount! If not for chiros the pain
I'd be in would be intolerable.

Thanks, Bill. Help is where you find it. I have opened my mind to what chiropractors who are
excellent can bring to the complete picture of overall wellness. Mary

So Bill, now we know you really are in a big hurt. You are in pain, on disability, with a part-time
job, and needing to make ends meet. That's tough. Best wishes. Mary

The key here (that you've discovered) is finding a good one. Unfortunately most people who've had a
bad experience with one never tried another, and were just turned off to them forever. Bad or
incompetent people in any field or profession unquestionably do more harm to the good competent ones
than anything else. I ran into this in the steam carpet cleaning business (back when it was new
technology) where one incompetent dummy set us back ten years. Finding a competent person in any
field is the key to succeeding at your goals. Glad your better, hope it continues to improve.

Not exactly Mary. I'm financially doing fine, but that $25 is my extra, or "personal spending money"
(hooker) for myself, so I don't spend it on non-essential services. My pain has been from a
neck/shoulder thing that's been particularly bad the last two weeks because I stubbornly refused to
spend the $25 on a chiropractor, and I kept saying "it'll get better on it's own", but it didn't.
Now I wish'd I had gone long ago instead of suffering so much. Best part is, his office is less than
a one minute walk out my backdoor, and he is the best there is. His dad treated me as long as twenty
five years ago, and now that he's retired he has taught his son his skills. I can adjust many things
on myself, but some areas such as between the shoulders are hard to reach effectively. I don't
    recomend this for everyone.

Coming from someone else, I might think that was sarcastic. ;?)~

Did you *really* have to write this. Wobbot is barely sufferable at the best of times, now he's

I *know* you will, 'cause one day we'll go a run together. Keep the faith.

Thank fu*k! I though God had arrived for me personally in his flaming chariot.

Whilst nothing would make me happier that to have little Miss O49 back here keeping all us boys in
line, you're asking one hell of a price if I have to start believing in chiropractors AND your
advice. Give me a couple of days to think about it, This is too big a step to take without
    consulting the Oracle.

More like the guy who shed his condom and did it bareback.

Actually if she ever meets you in person, I'm sure she will be running again...away from you. But
then again isn't she me Roger?
