What's the significance of having low TG (35) and high total
cholesterol and LDL cholesterol? I always thought high TG, high LDL
and high TC usually went together... I find it surprising that my TG
is so low..
Thanks.

Sounds like you may have very little adipose tissue plus fasted more than
12 hrs before the blood test.

Daune,
Low TG is good! Your chol is a little too high, and your HDL too low.
Has doc recommended chol medicine? Low fat diets are longer as much
in favor. Adding good fats to your diet (olive oil, fat from nuts)
may raise your HDL - but don't at the same time eat more calories.
For the new "skinny" on fats see the Harvard site

approximately 12 hours.. The first time I had it done (last year), my
TG was around 42. I cut more fat out of my diet, exercised more, and
now it's done to below 40.. seems weird to me, considering my
cholesterol is high (220ish), LDL is also high (160 or so), and HDL is
around 46 I think.. Would this possibly indicate a metabolic problem
in breaking down fat?"Dr. Andrew B. Chung, MD/PhD" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:<[email hidden]>...
