  1. Dr.Andrew B.Chung can half PET/half SPECT with FDG and cardiolite (done
seperatetely and fused) detect heart attacks smaller than 1.0 cm?Thanks

Would be pushing it. The SPECT part would have difficulties.

  3. Which part is more important in diagnosing an old heart attack less than
1 cm: cardiolite or FDG? I heard that both (cardiolite and FDG) are
indicated for diagnosis of old heart attacks, but anyway how are cardiac
scan old small heart attacks diagnosd? Thanks

The FDG would allow higher imaging resolution resulting in higher
sensitivity to detect the smallest heart attacks.

  5. Dr.Andrew B,Chung 1. If a person has cardiac resting PET scan with FDG
only (without resting blood flow perfusions with
cardiolite, rubidium, ammonia) and the result is negative would this mean
person never had heart attack (< 1 cm > 0.5 cm) in his life? 2. If with
a normal resting blood flow perfusion (cardiolite, ammonia, rubidium)
result, FDG is not indicated, does normal resting cardiac PET with FDG
only rules out resting blood flow perfusion use with cardiolite, ammonia
and rubidium when diagnosing heart attacks? Thanks

It makes it less likely. However, if a person's history and/or EKG suggest
that one has happened, the possibly small defect of a small heart attack may
have been missed by the scan.

Your second question is not clear to me. Sorry.

Dr.Andrew B.Chung If cardiac FDG only is done and the result is
negative does than person also need to have IV resting blood flow
perfusion agents, like cardiolite, ammonia and rubidium to rule out old
small heart attacks? Is cardiac FDG only enough for diagnosis of all old
    small heart attacks?Thanks

Why the concern about old small heart attacks, anyway?

  8. If I am having cardiac FDG scan I want to know if FDG only is enough for
diagnosis of all old small heart attacks (< 1 cm > 0.5 cm) or FDG and
one of the (rest) blood flow perfusion agents, like
cardiolite, ammonia, rubidium is indicated for the best diagnosis? Thanks

I followed this thread from the beginning but my answers were insufficient,
    it seems.

I think he wants to know if he can have rest images only and avoid the
stress images. He's trying to avoid Persantine because 'one of his friends
    almost died.'

I have tried to explain that these imaging tests are used to evaluate risk
of future heart attack and that they're not usually done just to find out if
a person has had an old small heart attack. I'm not sure why he's so
    concerned about old small MI's.
