This is the most horrific item I have read in a long time:
Researchers from Canada investigated the results of all the people taking statins, then urinating and defecating. "All of the statins were detected in an untreated sewage sample at 4-117 ng/l and in a treated sewage sample at 1-59 ng/1; but only atorvastatin [LIPITOR] was detected in a surface water sample at 1 ng/l. "
Yes, this means your children and grandchildren are drinking water contaminated with Lipitor.
This topic of groundwater being affected by what people excrete has had some interesting results in the past: Seattle ground water contains Caffine, West Los Angeles ground water contains Valium.
But Lipitor in the ground water is horrifying when we are aware of the adverse effects. Dr. Muldoon's study proved 100% of statin users have a measurable loss of cognition within 6 months. What does this mean for infants and children drinking water or eating foods prepared with water?

how terrible.
If your child drank ten million liters of this surface water every day they would be getting the starting 10 mg/day dose of Lipitor which generally has quite a low incidence of side effects.

Have read news reports of estrogen detected in rivers - some theorize it may be affecting the reproduction of such fish as the Pacific Salmon.

This is striking evidence of the progress of technology: we can now measure truly meaningless amounts of things!
At 2 liters of groundwater per day, a person would be dosed with 2 ng/day of lipitor. Over a year, that would be a cumulative dose of 730 ng. Over a 70-year lifetime, this would total 51 mcg. You would need to live 13,699 years to accumulate a single 10mg dose. At that age, I don't think you'd have any right to complain about the Lipitor contamination. -- Jim Chinnis Warrenton, Virginia, USA
