It's tough to say in teaspoons or tablespoons, because different products
    have various amounts per volume.

  3. most whey proteins come with a measuring scoop.

what are you goals, and why did someone suggest you take it?

Anyone who asks "how much per day" doesn't understand the proper
application of whey protein. Whey is an advantageous protein source
because it's quickly absorbed and creates high levels of circulating
amino acids within about half an hour. Whey is best taken immediately
before and/or after training to create high levels of essential amino
acids for the first few hours after training.

If you're just looking to supplement your diet to increase your 24/7
overall amino acid levels, try casein (cottage cheese) or other
"regular food" protein sources. Mixing whey with food is OK, but that
will slow down its absorption, which is the main reason you want to buy
    it in the first place.

If you're looking for an overall daily protein intake for strength
athletes, the standard is about 1.7 grams per kilogram of body weight.

  5. Hugo,
I agree with JMW that Whey Protein is good to use in situations where
timing is important such as before and after a workout and I also like
drinking a whey protein smoothie in the morning (if I lifted the night
before) since I feel like it is good to get a protein jolt with
break-fast. I generally notice better workouts if I get throw some
whey protein in my gatorade/banana smoothie before I work out. I try
to get most of my protein from natural sources: fish, chicken, meat,
etc. I would think of it like this: a steak could be considered a
sustained release protein source since your body takes a while to break
it down, a powdered whey protein is like a protein shot since your body
can get at the small particled powdered protein more easily. Since you
always want to have protein ready in your system they can both have
    their place in your diet.
I generally limit my whey protein intake to 40 grams a day.

    Good Luck,
    James
