hybrid bike....

Used to own a 92 Giant Innova. Stood me well till it was stolen. Good geometry for those who ride
predominately on the road but need a more relaxed riding position. Bike paths, Commuting, shopping
all suit well.

Greetings, I have been riding a beat-up Shogun Metro SE for years now. It's very heavily modified,
the frame, brakes and front wheel are about all that's left of the original bike, but it does the

Yeah got one, rode it a few thousand km touring etc. It's an avanti explorer FX. I haven't been on
it for ages (been riding a tandem instead), however I went out for a short spin on it on Sunday.

It's funny, after driving the tandem for the last year, which I thought had fairly heavy steering,
after riding the hybrid (with it's suspension forks) you realise how much weight they add to the
bike... or maybe it was the half-fruitshop in the handlebar bag.

Anyway, enough drivel, what do you want to know ?

Yep been riding a Metro SE for 5 years does the job, changed the pedals, added rack and panniers.
Bought it due to bad back and damaged leg - couldn't push road bike gears up hill. very comfortable
good gearing for me.

My only complaint is lack of choice of tyres very few shops stock more than one type 700 by 32mm
plus tyres.

I think you rather missed my point, I was not saying there are not tyres larger than 700 by 32 but
that shops tend to only stock one type of tyre over that size. As you say you have to check around
many shops to get one you want and that is my beef. if you have a 26" wheel just about every shop
stocks an enormous range of tyres.
