Thanks, sf. I been noticing them now and then on TV now on various shows
that I watch and probably no one else does -- some travel shows, as well;
but I saw some in some European museums and in a 1976 Czech movie and
another 50's foreign movie this week -- can't remember what movie or show I
see more than when a day goes by.

I must say, your DH must love you a bunch! This is tedious work. DH
decided to cane some 'important' chairs we have. He had never done this
before; they are turned out beautiful -- just like your flooring.

Oh that is gorgeous! Did you do it yourself or have it installed? We
want to remove all the carpeting in the great room so am looking for ideas?

Oh that is gorgeous! Did you do it yourself or have it installed?

Thanks! Hubby did it all by himself. He's got 10 thumbs, so it's
pretty easy to do. I'm showing off the floor, because feature strips
are not common with bamboo flooring. We used the same sized plank in
a different color for this because they don't sell decorative strips
at this point. Cutting a perfect 45° angle is the hardest part. Like
I mentioned to Dee before, bamboo is very hard - so use a sharp saw
blade.

I think that's a good idea! It will certainly add value to your home
too. I'm not a fan of w2w carpeting. My entire house has wood floors
(even the closets) with area rugs to delineate areas and soften the
look. The bamboo floor has a sisal rug on it.

Thanks sf! I've bookmarked your link so DH can take a good look at it.
The feature stripes are really nice. The carpeting has to go. It
gets too many wet feet and sand as well as some visitors who are so
impressed with the view they forget to take their shoes off. We figure
why fight it? If your DH could do this nice of a job I'm pretty sure my
DH could do it. We've been leaning heavily towards textured ceramic
tile but IMO that lacks the warmth of wood. Thank you very much for
posting your pic as that gives us another avenue to pursue.
