I saw Emeril and am looking forward to Paula Deen today. I haven't seen
much of her, but she's my brother-in-law's favorite person on Food TV.
She's the spitting image of my sister-in-law so she better be his favorite
person instead of Giada <g>

I didn't see Emeril -- he's probably pacing the floor all the time.
I didn't see Paula -- she's yelling all the time.
I'll see Giada -- because -- she's being just plain nice all the time.
I won't watch Ina -- she's too Martha for me; but I may change my mind. I
like her quiet manner.

I saw Emeril yesterday...was actually impressed. I did notice that early on a lady that
helped him get his start mentioned how rough he was on his help.
Not too eager for Paula, too Southern for me, but I will watch; not anxious for Ina,
she's too ... well, too fake, or syrupy, or affected, or something, that makes me go
Ewww!. Giada I just like. She's real enough and pleasant enough that I want to see the
flaws in her if she has some.
I like the series so far. The Food Network Unwrapped was good too.

I watched Paula Deen yesterday (recorded) and it was pretty
interesting. For instance, I always wondered about where she
filmed her show ... I didn't think it was her house, but where?
Turns out she was in upstate NY somewhere. I know once she
got a Christmas tree from her local 'friends' at their tree farm ...
I didn't think too many people around Savannah walked around
in I heart NY sweatshirts.
Then, really interesting, if you watch, you'll notice her set has
changed. That actually is in her new house. Wow, that would
be too much for me.
It was a fun show, though like most biography type shows, they
pretty much give it the whitewash.
Then there was FoodTV Unwrapped, anyone see that? Giada's
show, they kick some family out of their house for 2 months of a
year to film her show. In California, natch.
That was an interesting show, as well, a behind the scenes at
some FoodTV shows.

nancy,
I saw the Emeril's chefography and came away with the opinion of how can
someone have the strength to accomplish SO MUCH! They termed it an
"empire", IIRC.
I'd love to see them include the seriously funny outtakes. Knowing live
TV is pre-recorded live TV and retakes are natural and edited. TV-time
being what it is.
Emeril climbed up a notch in my book, neverminding his theatrics in front
of the camera. From washing dishes as a kid to where he is now, is
astonishing, imho.
All thee best,
Andy

I give them all the credit in the world, don't take me wrong.
I could work myself to death and not do what they have done.
I admire that.

That would be funny.

I have nothing against him, just his live show yadda yadda, you
know. Not his fault, really, it's the show. People like it.

Nope.
I'd be a lot more tempted to watch if it wasn't the Food TV chefs.
They're on 24-7 already. How about spending some money and showing
Trotter or Keller or Waters or Towers? Or chefs from Europe or Asia?

Nope, I'm more interested in the ones we see everyday. I want to know if it was just a
fluke or did they really earn their way up there? I wasn't a fan of Paula Deen before the
chefography show, and while I'm still not a real fan, I have a profound respect for her
that I didn't have prior to the show. Same with Giada and Emeril. They have earned their
spot in the limelight.
Tonight's show is the Barefoot one...I wasn't a fan of Paula's, but I really do not like
the Barefoot one. I hope tonight's show will show me some reason to at least respect
her, if not like her.
Once they get through the Food Network chefs, take on the world.

I agree; but the one chef - Jamie something I've seen from from England -- I
can't take it for more than 2 minutes. I wouldn't let him park my car
either.
Yes, I'd like to see some new blood on foodnetwork myself.

It's likely he'd park it on the wrong side of the road. <g>

Thanks, Nancy, for the heads-up. I will be recording Emeril, Paula & I
"think" I already got Ina. I liked Giada.
Have you watched them -- did you like them?

I forgot and missed recording Emeril, I got the rest
but have only watched Paula. I thought it was an
interesting show, fun to watch.
Did you seed FoodTV Unwrapped? That's on
tonight at 8, I think. Also fun.
