What a picture.

I was out in an ice storm on Moel Fferna on Sunday. My Paramo jacket
was coated in ice - wierd experience, boring hill.

Truely evil. Got caught by one of those once on Ruadh Stac Mor,
(Nowhere : middle of) Everything was verglassed,my self included.
This is quite a rocky hill and when sheathed in ice - interesting.
Worst of all the clagging up that preceded it stopped me getting a
view off A'Maigdhean.

That's a bit obvious.

I woke up after an overnight Ice-storm in Dallas once and the car looked
quite normal - but you couldn't get within 1" of the surface anywhere,
thanks to a near invisible but very hard layer of clear ice. As someone
said, getting in was real interesting. Driving 2 miles to work was even
more interesting - the freeway and size roads were similarly glazed, and
the average Texan had no clue (not aided by too many horsepower being
delivered through rather dumb automatic gearboxes).

The TV said 'we put down 60 tons of grit in the Metroplex area' .. yeah
right, that's about what would be needed for 2 miles of 10 lane freeway,
not a whole damn city.

We had something here in the Borders a few years back, Not very photogenic
as everything looked normal, a thin film of ice on everything, could hardly
stand up, even the dog kept falling over!
