  1. I see that the Garmin Forerunner 305 is finally being shipped. Some
people are reporting incidences of batteries being put in wrong, and
the heart rate monitor not working, and the software needing to be
updated, etc., etc., etc. Are these complaints true? I was thinking
of getting one...but now I'm not sure... Anyone out there have good or
bad feedback on the product? Thanks

Your best bet for getting information (good and bad) about the latest
    Forerunner is at

  3. I've had my Forerunner 305 for about 3 weeks now. I LOVE IT. I can
turn it on in my house and it syncs up. The heart monitor strap is way
more comfortable than the 301 and I have no spikes and no drop outs. I
couldn't be happier with mine. By the way.... I've had 201,301 and now
the 305 and I think it's a much better gps than the previous models.

I ran 21 miles on Sunday and it hugged the streets like a race car.
When I upload the data, I couldn't believe how accurate it was. My 301
was never like that. The only complaint I have, and it's not really a
complaint is that the screen is not as bright....but hey I'm 52 years
    old and I can't see like I used to.8-)

    Go for it...

How would you compare the HRM of the 305 with the 301? I've read a lot
about the 301 having issues with properly reading the user's heart
rate. Just wondering if you had issues with the 301 in that respect and
if the 305 is an improvement. I currently use the 201 in conjuction
with a Polar S610i. Even with the Polar and using electrode gel I get
some bad heart rate data, especially if the humidity is low.
