Hills - grumble, grumble,
I thought Rutland was mean to be flat grumble, grumble,
So that's what they've done with the [censored] heaps from the coal fields - build
Audax routes on top of them
Too hilly for badgers....
Too wet too!
If Newton hadn't discovered gravity perhaps I wouldn't have suffered so much
On the other hand. It was my first Imperial century of the year. I wasn't
the last to arrive or set off. I had Tony B from this parish as a riding
companion throughout the ride. Some of the villages and a lot of the
scenery was nice. The foul weather that blew in seemed to miss us both and
get the faster riders. The craic was good. Tony managed to drag me round
but it looks like we missed the cut because we were using the times on the
route sheets which did not match the times on the Brevet cards due to a
route revison.. Total distance was 163km.
One step closer to a 300 perhaps?
Tony, I *will* buy you a beer when our paths cross again.
Feeling fit, feeling strong, feeling good.
